as leaving not a splinter .. 2 Fax # 's (2 phone lines) and to reduce it to a string that can be connected to a fax machine.

You need to do some type of electronic devices to do this. Chill, have a call and change the line for the fax. One can not simply connect the cables in parallel. I can not imagine that something could be done, but you do not know cost. It really would be easier to obtain a fax seconds.
Whatever you are looking for, you need a spacer ... if a piece or connected to a telephone line. You can probably pick up in 6 "or 12" ... It is less than $ 10
